STEPHEN L. HOWARD

AIA, LEED Ap, EDAC

Born and raised in Utah, Stephen grew up with a love and desire to design and construct things. He holds degrees in Architecture and in Interior Design. This combined background in architecture and interior design provides a unique perspective that enhances his ability to understand a project’s complete needs and expectations. He has been practicing architecture for more than 20 years and enjoys all aspects of the profession.

Stephen enjoys hiking and biking—both road and mountain. His passion for biking has led to bicycle touring events and adventures throughout Utah with some of his GSBS coworkers. He is tri-lingual, as he speaks, English, and both Spanish and Portuguese. Although Stephen has his lived in and/or visited many different parts of the world, Utah has always felt like home.

As an Owner and Principal at GSBS, Stephen acts in many leadership roles depending on the project’s needs. He greatly enjoys patiently assisting clients through the many challenges of the planning, design, and construction processes. His extensive experiences include complicated building envelope design/detailing and evidence-based design research and application.
