Farmington Station Area Plan
GSBS led a team of consultants to evaluate a large area of undeveloped land to the north of the Farmington Station Frontrunner station. The area was originally planned as an office park, but development pressures lead Farmington City, UTA, and Wasatch Front Regional Council to request a reevaluation of road network alignments, land uses, transit opportunities, and urban design considerations. The project included several advisory committees, focused on different aspects of the project, and a public engagement process that targeted area property owners. A key part of the vision was to build on Farmington City’s “Tree City” identity by implementing a Greenway and Open Space System that enhances access and connectivity to the planned parks, trails, and other green spaces in the North Station area. The completed plan now serves as a guide for future land use and infrastructure investments in the area.
