PARVIZ FAIZ
PLanning
Born in Ogden, Parviz moved to Salt Lake City to pursue an undergraduate degree in environmental studies from the University of Utah. Engrossed in the city's skateboarding and music scenes, he quickly developed a deep connection to Salt Lake—feeling a newfound appreciation for "place" and an internal desire to care for it.
Learning more about the environmental and cultural threats facing the city set Parviz on a path to understanding the elements that foster resilient and vibrant cities. This blend of place-based care and environmental stewardship led him to earn a second bachelor’s degree in urban ecology, followed by a master’s in city and metropolitan planning. Drawing on his background in illustration—from skateboard and snowboard graphics to album covers and event fliers—Parviz brings a unique ability to create thoughtful and effective visuals that communicate initiatives aimed at improving the social, economic, and environmental well-being of a place and its residents.
Outside of work, Parviz enjoys cycling throughout the city, skateboarding, spontaneous meet ups with friends, screen-printing, playing music, and attending local shows and events.
