ALBERT YBANEZ
EMERGING PROFESSIONAL / ArchitECTURE
Albert is originally from the Philippines and studied Architecture at Kansas State University, receiving his master’s degree in 2023. As a kid, he always loved creating things by hand whether it was carving toy swords from wooden planks found off the side of the road or creating and drawing card games that his friends and family enjoyed playing together. His passion for creation and making people come together is what made him pursue architecture.
During his time at KSU, he helped lead many organizations and found a passion for helping younger students in their design journey. His love for mentoring younger architecture students drove him to co-create The Crit Room Podcast, where they talk about their personal architecture design education and industry experiences to guide their mentees in design school. If you can’t find him walking around the city taking pictures of amazing architecture or in the outdoors, he might be in the booth recording the next episode.
As an emerging professional, Albert is excited to take part in the amazing work here at GSBS, gaining experience in all phases of design from concept, all the way to project completion.
